A Terror Thursday teaser from the upcoming book
By A.J. Llewellyn
Our porn star friends arrived wearing hippie costumes from their latest movie Sexspell, and our crazy old neighbor Sebastian showed up in his customary bathrobe.
I looked him up and down. “Who the hell are you supposed to be?”
“What do you think?” he huffed. “I’m a dirty old man.”
“Excellent,” said our old friend and former porn director Billy Flamingo. He was dressed as Patsy Stone from the series Absolutely Fabulous. He held an empty bottle of champagne in one hand and a cigarette in the other. His new boyfriend was dressed as Eddie, Patsy’s clueless sidekick. He wore a tight, multi-colored sweater and tight mini skirt. He must have had a fearsome package between his thighs because it pressed against the fabric of his skirt. I was thankful the little kids were distracted by all the food and fun.
“Oh, Div, this is going to be a wonderful night,” my gorgeous husband said. I took his face in my hands and kissed him.
“I smell something burning,” he said, pulling away and sniffing.
Being vampires, we had an acute sense of smell. Everything looked fine to me. People were laughing and talking, music played…but, oh yes, I could smell it now.
“It’s not here,” I said and my nose led me to the far thicket of koa wood trees bordering our property.
Tem stood beside me and we gazed in horror at the city of Honolulu below us. She sparkled like the sea jewel she was, except…oh no.
“Don’t look now, Tem, but Chinatown is burning again…”
A Vampire in Waikiki Book 6
Book launches on October 31. Pre-order today.
It’s Halloween in Waikiki, the holiday some call “Devil Night.” Tem and Divine Thunder, celebrating their first Halloween together, invite all their family, friends, neighbors, and former gay-porn co-stars to Trick or Treat. Tem’s gone berserk hiring caterers from every single island, and they’ve even built a spook house on their property for the festivities and planned moonlight pony rides.
Tem’s in full-scale party diva mode when things start going horribly wrong. One by one, their guests start disappearing, and even Tem’s beloved cat, Moontime, goes missing. And then from their mountaintop home on Tantalus, they see that Chinatown is on fire.
Tem and Div throw themselves into action, but are they too late to solve the mystery of what’s happening and stop the madness?
