Sad news for the reading community: Seb Kirby of the U.K. passed away suddenly in February.

Followers and members of BestSelling Reads knew him as author of the James Blake thriller series, Take No More, Regret No More and Forgive No More, and five other titles.
His latest book, Jennifer 8, was released last November.
He was a pioneer of the self-publishing, e-book revolution, but his books were also picked up by a traditional publisher.

Seb was also a founding member of BestSelling Reads, and organized the members’ monthly online meetings.
He will be sadly missed.
Some fellow members of BestSelling Reads had this to say of their memories with Seb, or Ken.

I have known Seb for over a decade when a small group of us newly published authors connected and remained friends over the years. We helped one another and shared tips on our writing journey. His passing has come as a shock to us all and he will be missed greatly.
He was a kind and lovely person. He was always ready to help you out if you needed it. BestSellingreads has been blessed to have Seb in the group and we are all feeling his loss. RIP 🙏

Recently I joined BestSelling Reads, where I got to virtually meet him on monthly meetings and we connected further. In fact, I just did an interview of him on my WordPress blog to talk about his novel Jessica 8 as recently as December 24th, 2025! I just really adored this lovely, sweet man. I am so saddened to hear of his passing.

I didn’t meet Seb Kirby in person but enjoyed our online interactions thanks to our writers’ group, BestSelling Reads. Seb was always a joy to “talk shop” with because, like me and the rest of us, he was vitally interested in not just the written word but how to market our work. He was supportive and encouraging.
We talked a few times about turning his books into audio versions. Seb also set up many of our online group chats.
I am devastated that this lovely, talented man is gone. We still have his wonderful books, but I will miss his authentic voice. See you on the other side of the rainbow, my friend.

Seb was such a talented writer, truly dedicated to the art of storytelling and the business of publishing. I will always value the tips and advice he offered me as I built my own writing career. I greatly admired how eager he was to listen, grow, adapt, and learn. His approach to writing—and to living life—was one we should all aspire to follow.

I met Seb through BestSelling Reads, and he was always supportive. He joined another authors’ group I set up, and was always ready with encouragement and support. Not only that, he was always first to volunteer for any request.
Seb offered me valuable advice over the years, and I learned so much about the craft of turning ideas for stories into books that people wanted to read.
Thank you, Seb. I miss you.
